ALL HANDS ON DECK!!!

Wed Mar 22, 2006, 10:48 PM
Well I’ll be damned! People are actually still taking part in this crazy little experiment of mine. Sorry Guys! I left for a while and totally spaced on almost everything DA related, but fortunately I received a note, and that note reminded me that I have a responsibility to this little union I founded and… well I guess that means I’m back in action.

All hand on deck Squaba’s back at the helm!

DWU Needs Your Help!

Wed Mar 22, 2006, 3:47 PM
I'm so sorry about this. I've left deviantART and I totally forgot about the DWU. The DWU needs an ambitious new co-admin to revive the club. If you're interested, please contact ~Squaba with your request. (If ~Squaba doesn't reply, e-mail me at doyouhaveapieceofpaper@gmail.com.)
Thank you.

Sincerely,
=reaumursboilingpoint

Vote on the new contest?

Sun Dec 4, 2005, 2:35 PM
====Another update from =reaumursboilingpoint====

Sorry about being so late. :blush: Now that I've been revived, I'll give you three choices.

1. A Pantoum contest with no particular theme. A pantoum is a poetry form. You can find out more at that link. Example pantoum: [link]

2. Prompt: "(I/we/he/etc) reached the edge" (Incorporate it into poetry or prose.)

3. Prompt: [link] (Get inspired by an image. Be sure to remember the image you choose.)

What do you think?

Note: I'll get to the new members and submissions ASAP.

Any ideas for a contest?

Tue Nov 8, 2005, 5:57 AM
====Update from =reaumursboilingpoint====

Is anyone still alive? I know I'm not, but surely some of you must be. Right?

Anyway, who wants a contest? We're going to have one whether I get responses or not (;p), so you had better give me your ideas. I mean... Please answer one question.

1. What kind of contest do you think would be interesting?

Comments should go on this journal entry.

Important Announcement

Sat Sep 24, 2005, 1:25 PM
Greetings, DeviantWritersUnion members!

===Update from =reaumursboilingpoint===

I apologize for the lack of updates. I was on vacation and then school kept me busy, but I promise I'll keep up now. (Do you believe me? I wouldn't... ;p)

If you have sent me a note and I've yet to respond, I'm getting to those right now. Expect a response within several hours.

Meanwhile, I've been working on a couple of things.

:bulletblue: A forum. I installed YaBB on my personal web site--which is wasting away alone and unused--but the forum doesn't have any members. It is all set up and ready to go.

:bulletblue: A Yahoo! Group. What better way than email to get conversations going and inform people of updates and new submissions? There's file and photo sharing, a calendar, and polls. (Don't tell me I sound like an ad. I know.)

Who is interested in a forum or group? Does anyone have better ideas for keeping the DWU going? Comments, anyone? Anyone? (Is that echoing I hear?)

ProsePlease to host Q&A with IfrozenspiritI

IfrozenspiritI will be the guest authoress for the next ProsePlease Q&A on Sunday 25th September 2005 at 8:30pm EST, in chatProsePlease

IfrozenspiritI was born in Colorado, grew up in a small town in Massachusetts, and moved to a smaller town in New Hampshire a few years ago. Rachel is currently a freshman at Williams College in Williamstown, MA, where she plans to major in English (with a concentration in creative writing).

Rachel is relatively new to writing "for real," but loves it and has been doing her best to improve. She thinks the encouragement and critique found here on dA have been extraordinarily helpful toward that effort. Unsure how to categorize her stories most of the time, she doesn't think she writes in a particular genre. Rachel tends to focus on character and imagery in her writing.

When not writing, she spends all her time riding her horse, reading, and playing her clarinet. Rachel is also in charge of the prose gallery for the Unknown Artists Project, so if you know of any prosewriters who've been overlooked or underexposed, send her a note!)

Please read Sacrifice which Rachel feels is probably the pinnacle of her literary career.
